If your child is anxious
We start smaller than you'd expect
For a child who hasn't managed school in months, a full lesson is not a realistic starting point. We often begin with fifteen minutes, camera off, microphone optional, talking about anything at all.
Attendance comes before attainment. Once a child can reliably turn up, the learning follows — and not before.
If your child is behind
We find the actual gap first
The first session is diagnostic. There is no point re-teaching topics a child already understands, and there is no point pushing forward if something three years back never landed.
You'll get a written summary of exactly where the gaps are, and the plan for closing them.
Questions
Things parents ask us first
- How quickly can my child start?
- Most families have a first session within two weeks of the initial consultation — sooner if there's an urgent need.
- What if my child won't turn their camera on?
- That's completely fine, and very common with anxious learners. Cameras are never required. Many of our EBSA learners keep theirs off for weeks.
- Do you work with our school?
- If you'd like us to, yes. We can report to the school, join review meetings and align with what's happening in class. Equally, we can work entirely privately.
- How much does it cost?
- It depends on the programme, the subject and whether it's 1:1 or small group. We'll give you a clear figure at the consultation with no obligation.
- Can funding cover it?
- Sometimes. If your child has an EHCP or is on an AP pathway, the local authority may commission the placement. We'll talk you through the options.
- What if it isn't working?
- Tell us. We'll change tutor, change approach, or tell you honestly if we're not the right provider for your child.
